Peggy Adams Animal Rescue

A couple of weeks go I stopped by The Peggy Adams animal rescue in West Palm Beach, I wanted to take a couple of pictures of the dogs there for my blog.  It was a great afternoon, I was very happy to see the good living conditions of all pets in the facility, and delighted as well by the good attitude of all the volunteers that I came in contact with.

From a personal point of view, I believe that this organization is phenomenal. First, like many other shelters   they provide refuge to cats, dogs, puppies and kittens in need. Second, this non- profit organization work hard to find suitable homes to all this beautiful creatures. Third, this animal rescue does not practice euthanasia as a way to control over population.

“Our Vision is to create a community where one hundred percent of the adoptable animals find loving homes,” establishes the organization at their website.

At this moment Adams does not receive founding from the County, State, or even The Government, and all the achievements reached up this point are thanks to the support of the private sector, foundations, finally corporations.
It would be a great thing to see governmental entities get involved with initiatives like the Peggy Adams, and keep alive the dreams of many organizations to protect, and provide care to neglected animals.

The initiative of Lasky

Many casting directors, agents, coaches, and also actors gathered at the studio of the photographer Bob Lasky in Miami last February, 27. He invited all these people because he wanted to record their testimonials, anything  they want to say in terms of the professionalism, and also personal points of view with respect the photographer.
Once on the studio, I asked Lasky what was the intended purpose to gather all this testimonials, and he said: "I get calls from several schools all the time, which claim to have big numbers of kids who would like to have their head shots taken, but don't have the means to do so. Unfortunately, most of the times I can't afford to do pictures for free. But one day, I had the idea that maybe I could get a corporate or governments grant in order to help these unprivileged children. After researching, I found out that the first step to apply for a grant and make this project possible. Would be gather testimonials of people who have used my services, and could speak about my qualities as a photographer. There are more steps later but this is the first one to follow. So that is how everything started," said Lasky.
On the other hand, According to Lasky this initiative could help many others, "eventually I want this thing to grow, so if many more individuals from different ages can't afford to pay for their pictures they can make use of this initiative.Instead of people going for cheap pictures just to save money," said Lasky.
At the end, more than forty people attended to support the initiative of the photographer. All of them had many things to say about Lasky.

Observing America's Most Wanted

It was a great experience for me to be able to attend the shooting of the TV show "America's Most Wanted" on Tuesday, February 8th. This is not just because I was able to move freely in the set recording footage with my camera, but also because I was able to appreciate the dynamic present between John Walsh and the camera operations.
In the beginning, I started interviewing people from the crew because originally I wanted to write on my blog about the production elements of the show such as: recording process, scenery, lighting and so on. But after Mr.Walsh arrived to the set  my original idea shifted , and I decided that it would be more relevant to show Mr.Walsh from another angle, different from what people would  see when watching the television show.
Before the shooting started, I got approached by the Director of Public Relations of the show. He provided me with some guidelines regarding  what I was authorized to do, and also what I wasn't supposed to, and of course I did follow  the rules.
On the other hand, nobody told me that I couldn't position myself very close to John Walsh while he was being recorded. There were many times that I was so close to the host, that at some point I felt I wasn't just invading his space, but also distracting him. However, Mr.Walsh was so professional and focused in what he was doing that he never said anything at all.
At the end, the entire experience was absolutely incredible, and the videos I gathered can provide a different and unique perspective of the work that takes place during the recording of the show.

Evan Weisberg  is one of many recording artists and musicians who lives in South Florida, but what makes this particular artist different from others is the fact that he uses his talent and music to positively encourage others with less opportunities.
According to Evan, better known  as Troubled E, he wants to set a positive example for the children of tomorrow. "I think that I can provide inspiration and motivation to the children that really need it the most, and I will continue to do this with my music," said troubled E.
The performer believes that  the versatility of  how he expresses his emotions, lyrics, and also personal style, are some of the  fundamental elements of his music which do not  just inspire, but also can make others feel good as well.
"Among some of my latest works are: two jingles for the St. Baldrick Cancer Foundation, to Prevent Child Abuse in America, and a jingle for Mrs. Essie Reed, better known in our community as 'Big Mama,'" said Evan.
As a child, Evan had to overcome many troubles and struggles, and these same experiences encouraged him to start composing, and also serve in the community as a tutor and teacher, and activity that he will continue doing in order to positively  influence many more lives.
