It was a great experience for me to be able to attend the shooting of the TV show "America's Most Wanted" on Tuesday, February 8th. This is not just because I was able to move freely in the set recording footage with my camera, but also because I was able to appreciate the dynamic present between John Walsh and the camera operations.
In the beginning, I started interviewing people from the crew because originally I wanted to write on my blog about the production elements of the show such as: recording process, scenery, lighting and so on. But after Mr.Walsh arrived to the set my original idea shifted , and I decided that it would be more relevant to show Mr.Walsh from another angle, different from what people would see when watching the television show.
Before the shooting started, I got approached by the Director of Public Relations of the show. He provided me with some guidelines regarding what I was authorized to do, and also what I wasn't supposed to, and of course I did follow the rules.
On the other hand, nobody told me that I couldn't position myself very close to John Walsh while he was being recorded. There were many times that I was so close to the host, that at some point I felt I wasn't just invading his space, but also distracting him. However, Mr.Walsh was so professional and focused in what he was doing that he never said anything at all.
At the end, the entire experience was absolutely incredible, and the videos I gathered can provide a different and unique perspective of the work that takes place during the recording of the show.
